There are thousands of "fun" games, but only a few fun games that have an immersive universe, rich with a detailed history and filled with lore. Fun only isn't enough to keep me invested in a game. Imo, everything else about the game is average. Without Diablos' rich lore, I wouldn't even bother playing the game. I read every damn piece of flavor text the game has to offer, listen to (or read) every conversation, and watch every cutscene with wide eyes. I freaking love the Diablo universe, and discovering its back story is one of my favorite parts about playing the game. As you can see in this thread, lore is a big deal, and the universe of Diablo is rich with it. That pissed off me and a large portion of the D2 community. Their last expansion, Lightfall, had a horrible campaign and shit on Destinys' incredible lore. For others, though, lore is extremely important. That's perfectly fine, and I respect that. Developing and maxing out their character is enough for them. I know and understand that there are a lot of gamers who could care less about lore. A game with crappy lore is not immersive. Immersion is the most important of a game for me. I've got to have a reason to want to grind and "get good." I play ARPGs to escape our shitty reality and immerse myself in worlds of wonder. Good mechanics and awesome skill trees only don't cut it for me. I, for one, can not play an ARPG with a crap campaign and crap lore. There are lots of gamers that really care and appreciate a game with a detailed back story. But at this point in the story the effects of the worldstone are far weaker on the nephilim due to its destruction. Then Tyrael destroying it removed all of the effects that were lowering the power of the nephilim leading into Diablo 3. Uldyssian lowered the powers of nephilim and Baal corrupted the worldstone, lowering the power of the nephilim. Makes sense when you consider the power scale in D3 tbh. "Angels are birthed from the Crystal Arch, though only during moments of perfect harmony in Heaven, through a process called the Lightsong."ĭ4 is likely where things have been retconned. Corruption or not heaven was still "working" (not sure of a better way to describe it). Angles are birthed from the spine of Anu. If the power came from the high heavens it would have stopped working right alongside the rest of heaven. When Diablo did his thing to heaven, humans were not effected by it because it was a human that killed Diablo. "Paladins use holy magic as gifted by the High Heavens." Here is the D2 lore connected to paladins. From character builds and skills to lore and theories, we have it all covered. Welcome to the un official Diablo 4 subreddit! Of course, though parts of this leak was proven to be on the money in the past, it’s still an unofficial leak and we’ll be filing this under speculation for now.ĭiablo 4 has been announced for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The leaker also said that a beta is planned sometime in 2020, with hopes of making a 2021 release. There’s a lot of information there, but some of the ones that stick out is that Paladin and Amazon will be starting class alongside the Druid, Barbarian, and Sorcerer classes that have been announced already. While the leak via the Diablo Reddit is old at this point, considering how on point it was about the reveal and what we know about the fourth game, it’s worth revisiting some key points. There’s a lot more there, too, about an upcoming beta as well as the game’s classes. The reality was that it leaked out quite some time before, in fact almost four full months ago a leaker came out via Reddit. The return of the franchise sure got a lot of people nice and hyped. The announcement of Diablo 4 was much anticipated when it came at this year’s Blizzcon.
